WThis is a home-style interpretation of a beverage found on a new cocktail list. It's a batch prepared mix that is loaded with the tastes of a holiday season, making it ideal for hosting a holiday party. Save the extra cordial to use in breakfast cocktails, sweets, or to make additional servings of this cocktail.
Serves 10 guests
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g fine sugar
400ml premium vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
To prepare the Cordial: Put the listed ingredients in a pan, heat until it reaches a light boil, agitating so the sugar melts. Then, take off the stove allowing it to reach room temperature fully. Decant into an sealable bottle, seal and store in the refrigerator, it can be stored for about one month.
For the Cocktail Base: Combine the specified spirits and syrup into a sizeable container, allow it to infuse for 60 minutes, then filter it best through cheesecloth, making it perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Add 85ml from the batch mix into a stirring glass packed with ice, and stir carefully for a minute until cold. Strain to a frosted cocktail glass or similar, decorate with some cranberries and complete it by giving it a quick spritz of the essential oil above the glass.
